Why I Like Running (3- Maybe I don’t like running)

The 25K really was challenging. I am proud that I did it, but this whole week I’ve paid for it. The first couple days I was sore and the soreness grew until Tuesday, then it slowly improved. The last few days my back has just been killing me. It’s really difficult to fall asleep at night and painful to even walk around. When I was about halfway through the run last Saturday I really felt like I would never run that far again. Part of the reason is that I am so completely inflexible that my muscles get tight at the slightest big of exercise. In elementary school I would be top 10 percent in every physical fitness test except for that stupid stretching exercise. So I think I’m going to stick to shorter, more manageable runs in the future, more like between 5-7 miles. It won’t kill me, but I will still have to push myself. I just hope my stupid back wont stay stiff for very long. I totally take for granted being pain free 99 percent of the time.
